- The purpose of this paper is to give an overview of the place of the notion of ‘model’ in architectural theory. It is divided in two parts. The first focus on pure linguistic matters: the different words that are used, in theory of architecture, to refer to a model (la maquette) and the different contexts for their use. The second adresses two theoretical issues called the model-model relationship and the drawing-model struggle.
