Abstract
Monaco is a commercial Monte-Carlo based IMRT planning system. The dosimetric accuracy of Monaco (version 2.03) was experimentally validated with absolute dose measurements in heterogeneous phantoms. Depth dose curves and dose profiles calculated by Monaco were compared to Gafchromic EBT2 films and TLDs100. Experimental measurements have validated Monaco dose calculations in a heterogeneous medium, as well as with dose profiles than depth dose curves. These results were also compared with the currently used XiO planning system.
