The P/M routes form attractive and promising alternatives to the classical metallurgical route. Near full density specimens were obtained by field assisted sintering a commercial "Fe2VAl" grade and Fe-V-Al powders obtained by milling cast ingots but also by field assisted reactive sintering a mix of the elemental powders. In the specific case of the one-step synthesis and densification of the Fe2VAl compound, a first insight in the reaction path was achieved.
