This work is a study of the mycoflora of different forest types, by the methods of the mycocoenology. An introduction to that particular field of the mycology is presented and the techniques used for the relevés are discussed. A total of 49 plots have been studied, spread on 8 sites in higher Belgium. Their ecological characteristics are described and the phytosociology of their vegetation is discussed. About 500 mycocoenological relevés have been done, allowing the observation of 924 taxa of fungi. During the relevés, the abundance of the fungal species has been registered and notes have been taken about their ecology. Using the collected data, the qualitative and quantitative variations of the mycoflora are analyzed, together with diverse factors that are producing them. The relevés are studied by clustering methods (TWINSPAN and Cluster Analysis) and by ordination techniques (CCA and DCA). The phenology of the fungal species as well as their ecology is treated.
