Urbanization has brought with it important changes in social life as in individual experience. Mobility, freedom, unsureness are all salient traits of modern life. Are these factors to be seen as threats to Christian faith? Is the city of today Babel or Jerusalem? What are the positive and negative elements which pastoral theology can pinpoint in the city-dweller's faith? To what kind of concrete conversions can ecclesial authority consent to in this new, diversified and moving context?
