Abstract
(en) This article explains why the World Trade Organization struggles with the problem of its own legitimacy, how it puts forward both procedural and substantial arguments and remains trapped in the tension between them. This paper focusses on the WTO’s own discourse to shed light on its presuppositions or, rather, its internal contradictions.
