Abstract
For centuries, religious texts have been used to justify gender hierarchies and asymmetries, seemingly positioning the Bible and feminist activism as natural adversaries. Yet recent feminist demonstrations in France tell a different story: the Bible has become an unexpected weapon in feminist political discourse. By analyzing three feminist slogans that rewrite biblical texts, this paper explores how feminist activists draw upon Scriptures to challenge patriarchal authorities and assert their demands in the public secular sphere.
