Abstract
This work on prosodic markers of (dis)fluency in French is part of a wider collaborative research project within the Institute of Language and Communication the University of Louvain (Louvain-la-Neuve). Our thesis aims to analyze the acoustic form of local marks of disfluency and their intonative surroundings in order to develop operational criteria of description. Our analyses aim at characterizing prosodic cues of disfluency (temporal, rhythmic, intonative) within the dynamics of prosodic fluencies. This gives rise to the following research question: Do the acoustic features of a disfluent sequence and its periphery allow us to characterize the given discursive segment as more fluent or more disfluent?
