- Abstract
- The surface wave transmission line or G line employs a single conductor around which the wave travels within a space of limited radius. Its low loss and broad bandwidth permits this line to replace coaxial cable and microwave relays. The surface wave field can be extended to envelop a railroad track or a highway, and act as a continuous sensor for trains or vehicular traffic.
