- (en) Anorexia, defined as a mental illness since the 19th century, is explored on the basis of experiential texts written at the end of the 20th century. This study of literary texts brings to light new epistemologies and debunks the myth of anorexia as it is represented in dominant medical and cultural discourses. Anorexia then appears as a pathology of language, an act of terrorism, or a search for the sacred, where the body and writing are intertwined. But writing anorexia also gives it its ethics: by figuring this pathology by means of 'physiograms,' the author conveys meaning and is sentenced to live. Writing Size Zero is a gift of life.
