Abstract
If cities have recently come more prominently to the fore in relation to climate change governance and policies, we observe that it is not only in their classical role of local authorities, humbly aligning on decisions that have been taken at higher level. The presence of cities on the climate change and adaptation governance scene today results from a much more proactive and challenging approach.
