- Abstract
- The extensive studies on the cults of Ostia, at various levels (supra-civic, civic, infra-civic), now allow us to consider the question of cohabitations, permeabilities and interactions between cults practised on a private basis and those performed on a public basis (private and public being understood here in their legal sense). These cohabitations and interactions, which are mainly revealed by epigraphic sources, can be observed at the level of the worship places, the gods honoured, the dates chosen for offerings, as well as the choice of dedications made in the private sphere which, in certain cases, could be inspired by civic or even supra-civic religious life.
