Are there links between adolescent homosexuality and sexual abuse in childhood ?. Sexual abuse of boys and its longer-term consequences are still a hidden aspect of individual, family, and public health problems. Social stereotypes remain very active for men, who, able to defend and protect themselves, are expected to endure challenges with strength. These stereotypes run counter to the experiences of boys who were sexually abused as children. The lasting internalization of representations accentuates ill-being, destabilizes identity, and is likely to affect sexual orientation. Distinguishing between adolescent homosexuality as a legitimate manifestation of a young boy trying to find himself and traumatic homosexuality as a secondary effect of abuse suffered during childhood is a delicate subject. In considering the notions of deconstruction, relationships with the body, and the narcissistic contract, we examine, with a focus on boys, the mechanisms and forces present in this complex relationship between the young boy, his family, and society, making a link between the notion of sexual orientation and past trauma of an abusive nature
