(en) [Recent advances in the understanding of the pathophysiology of multiple sclerosis] Multiple sclerosis is currently defined as a chronic inflammatory disease of the central nervous system, characterized by demyelination and axonal loss. It is associated with a systemic immune dysregulation. The condition results from the interaction between a complex multigenic susceptibility and various environmental factors, which are still incompletely elucidated. This review summarizes our current knowledge about the physiopathology of multiple sclerosis.
