Abstract
The Old Latin version of Esther is an accurate rendering of the oldest Greek form of this book, as Jean-Claude Haelewyck has shown in his critical edition. Consequently we have three Greek forms of Esther at our disposal in addition to the Hebrew. The opportunity is thus given to have a glance at the status of these radically different forms (original or hybrid, early or recent, canonical or received) in exegetical research and in the Churches. Esther is not the only case.
