- Abstract
- An experimental study of the ion pair production in the dissociation of molecules induced by collision with heavy particles at relative velocities of the order of 10/sup 8/ cm s/sup -1/ is discussed. The investigation consists of measurements of cross sections, energy and angular distributions of the fragments. The apparatus and the experimental method are fully described. Results are reported for the ion pair production from 6 keV H/sub 2/ molecules impinging on He, Ne and Xe: H/sub 2/+X rarr H/sup +/+H/sup -/(+X).
