Abstract
Chronic insomnia is a frequent disease in general population. In the past few years, a real change has occurred in the way insomnia is considered and treated. We used to see insomnia as a psychological illness and treated it with hypnotics. In parallel with the development of complex and biologically predominant models, the behavioural and cognitive therapy for insomnia has demonstrated its efficacy. It appears that this approach has found a place between others therapeutic tools. The main challenge is now to improve its accessibility.
