- Abstract
- (en) Drawn on a survey with newly-parents-academic researchers, this article examines an original issue in the field of sociology of work : the impact of their family life on the way they manage and consider their work. It studies their perception of work at the crossroads of their family pattern (material resources, family expectations) and their work pattern (material and symbolic resources bestowed by their academic fields, career-paths). The article demonstrates how researchers’ work satisfaction must be understood as the result of the interference between these two spheres related to gender and social origin.
