- A Georgian translation of the homily of Jacob of Sarug on the "Nativity of Our Lord" is found in the Mravalt'avi (homiliary) of Tbet'i (Xth C.). However, this homily does not belong to the original collection of texts in the homiliary. Many indications suggest that the decision to include the homily of Sarug in the Mravalt'avi of Tbet'i is the decision of Jean Mtbevari (Xth c.), the owner of the codex. This person could been responsable for including the Syriac homili in its Georgian version into the Georgian homiliary. The linguistic analysis of the quite free translation shows that the homily was translated probably from Greek and not from Arabic in the ninth century at the latest.
