Abstract
(en) [Overcome of canal fillings with zinc oxide eugenol in primary teeth 12 months prospective study] Pulpectomies and root canals are the most endodontic treatments performed in the paediatric dentistry service in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire). The main material in our working conditions is zinc oxide eugenol, sometimes shown as inducing inflammation. This study focused on 21 temporary molars filed with zinc oxide eugenol and followed in the paediatric dentistry service and in private dental practice. Treatements were carried out by a single operator; clinical and radiographic controls allowed to follow the fillings behavior. The 12 months results showed 76,19% success rate. This originator study requires that further works be carried with large numbers of teeth. But the findings are an advance in clinical research and confirm practioners on use of zinc oxide eugenol in temporary teeth fillings.
