This paper presents an aesthetic analysis of the interactions between theatre script and digital tools in French playwright Pauline Peyrade's play "Ctrl-x". It shows how the author hybridises dramatic and digital codes in her script, by expressing the non-verbal properties of digital technologies with words and constructing a sub-story that borrows from the synchronous, multidirectional principle of the Internet. The analysis adopts an intermedial approach, drawing in particular on the notion of intermedial reference (Rajewsky 2005). Finally, it compares the effects of this hybridisation with those usually associated with stage performance.
