(en) Clinically, intellectual giftedness is often associated with emotional characteristics like bad emotion regulation or hypersensitivity. However, little research exists on the scientific level in this area. In this thesis, emotional competencies (EC) of intellectual gifted are studied through two studies, one using a new questionnaire: the PCE (Profile of emotional competencies) , created as part of our research .Our works could highlight specific operating of EC. At intrapersonal level, intellectualy gifted seem to have lower competencies but the oposite could be observed at interpersonal level. To better interpret the results obtained in our other works, a study also investigate the initial emotional reactivity of intellectualy gifted adolescents. Our results suggest that there is no particular operating at this level. The link between the development of EC and academic success has been demonstrated in several studies in the general population . Good EC, playing a catalytic role in this framework, enabling young people to integrate better and get better results. We are here questioning this link in the population of intellectualy gifted. The results of two studies indicate that there is also a link between these two variables in this population. In addition, through a validated training , we have demonstrated that it is possible to develop the EC with a population of intellectualy gifted adolescents.
