Abstract
Thermal zoning by inclusion, or "thermal onion", is a spatial configuration allowing the coexistence, of zones presenting different operative temperatures in the same building. Reduction of the requirements of comfort in one of these zones could therefore allow energy savings compared with a building with a homogeneous thermal atmosphere. This article examines the conditions under which such savings are actually realized.
