Abstract
As a tool to understand the human experiment, the story is the expression of this « narrative impulse » named by Fullford ans finely analysed by Ricoeur. « Pictures of the narrative » wants to testify the width and ingeniousness of the narratives in our society and the multiplicity of the theorical investments needed to analyse its current strategies. Sticking more particularly to the narratives integrating iconic resources, the studies presented here multiplie the kind of analysis as much as the media supports. The fist section of this work (The narrative and the picture), tried to recall dimensions of the narrative phenomenon, the debates on its aiming and its roots. The second part, (Doors to the narrative) will stick to the mechanisms of progressive input in the built universe of the narrative like the cover or the incipit. In the following section, (Formats of the narrative), the universe of the televised fictions will make it possible to analyse the impacts of the format of the narrative kinds on the narrative strategies. « Supports of the narrative », the fourth part, continues this reflexion by underlining the relationship between the narrative aiming and the semiotical resources of the media in wich it projects to be incarnated. A fifth section (Temptation of the narrative) proposes to illustrate the force of the narrative structure, even within projects with the distinct aimings. « Narrative of the narrative », the last great section, devotes to the narratives inlayers, these frames inviting us to recall the indices of other more discrete stories, more determining. The last contribution of this work (When reading is writing) returns on what supports the narrative impulse itself : the culture of the narrative, the propensity wich makes an virtual author of the reader. .
