Abstract
A second-order interferometric correlation technique is used to provide new experimental data on the residual coherence of diffused femtosecond laser pulses in turbid media. A coherence factor is defined and time-resolved results are compared to ones from other experimental approaches, leading to a refined definition of the coherence of snake photons, which are present in large numbers in true biological media. Coherence and time-broadening measurements are reported for samples of diluted milk, with from 0.5 to 3.5 mean number of diffusions.
