Abstract
p-Aminobenzyl-tris(hydroxymethyl)methane has been prepared in 5 steps from diethylmalonate and p-nitrobenzyl bromide, with an overall yield of 23%. This compound could be grafted on silica previously derivatized with 3-isocynatopropyltriethoxysilane.
