Abstract
Stroboscopic detection of nuclear forward scattered synchrotron radiation is used to detect the high-resolution 6.2 keV Mossbauer resonance of Ta-181 in tantalum metal. It is shown that synchrotron timing modes with a bunch interval ideal for Fe-57 (typically around 150 ns) are perfectly suited for the investigation of systems with a much larger decay time.
