Abstract
(en) A detailed inventory of the Mediaeval French translations and adaptations in verse and prose of the book of Judith brings to light the singularity of Gautier de Belleperche's long poem (middle of the 13th century). This author introduces into the story of the Maccabbees a lengthy passage borrowed from a Jewish narrative concerning Judith used at the Feast of Hanukkah (the Dedication), called here the «Feast of the Chambers». Gautier is the oldest witness to this narrative.
