Abstract
The author has studied the pure rotational spectrum of th fundamental vibrational state of the molecules CH/sub 2/-CH/sup 79 /Br and CH/sub 2/-CH/sup 81/Br in a frequency range from 8 to 59 GHz. The analysis of the hyperfine structure due to the quadrupole moment of the bromine nucleus was made using the formula of Bragg and Golden. In the calculation of the transitions frequency, the author used two formulas: the formula of the asymmetrical non rigid rotator of Kivelson and Wilson (1952), applied to plane molecules and the Watson's formula (1967, 1968) applied without using the conditions of planarity. Rotation and distortion constants are proposed in both cases.
