The general purpose of the European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC) for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research (called LifeWatch) is to provide a variety of data, analytical and modelling tools. Our team aims at contributing to LifeWatch through the development and the distribution of valuable geographic data. A user and literature survey have been carried out to design useful datasets. Three datasets have been defined according to the results of this analysis: (i) a reference database integrating biotic and abiotic factors, (ii) an annualy updated change layer to identify disturbance or restoration of habitats, (iii)information about the vegetation phenology, the snow cover, incoming energy from the sun to land, temporary water extent and occurrence of fires.
