- Abstract
- This research aims to understand the decision-making process within international meta-organizations. Constituting an evolution in the design of organizations, they can account for the existence of community organizations working together to achieve a common goal. While scholars are showing a growing interest for those organizations, there has been little research on their decision-making process. Bearing this in mind, the purpose of this research has been to develop a better understanding of decision-making processes and implementation of decision by member organizations. To this end, we have studied the consultation process organized by the World Anti-doping Agency between 2011 and 2013. This process has led to the modification of the World anti-doping Code. Through a diachronic methodology, we have studied secondary date and identified 5 types of decision-making processes and discussed the implication of actors during the latter. Trough semi-structured interviews with National Anti-doping Agencies’ leaders we have also emphasized the factors that led to the implementation of the Code.
