(en) [What are the values in which general medicine is anchored?] In order to define general medicine as a scientific discipline and to build a conceptual model for teaching it, a group of teaching doctors, supported by a librarian and accompanied by a philosopher, started to identify the values that underpin the practice of general medicine. They were progressively selected and classified into three distinct groups (basic values; values as virtues; deliberation), each of which plays an essential role both for the practice of quality general medicine and for its teaching.
