- (en) The picture obtained by a computed tomography (CT) scan illustrates a cardiac perforation by a temporary transvenous lead placed in a patient with a poorly tolerated bradycardia. Two days after the insertion of the pacemaker lead, the patient was transferred to our institution. The temporary pacing electrode was still inserted via the right jugular in the right ventricle (RV), but all pacing manoeuvres performed demonstrated a complete absence of possible ventricular capture. A cardiac CT scan showed both RV and pericardial perforation by the lead. The pacing electrode was removed under monitoring in the intensive care unit without haemodynamic complication. [...]
