- (en) OBJECTIVE : Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory gynecological disorder characterized by endometrium-like tissue outside the uterine cavity, including the ovaries, causing severe chronic pelvic pain and infertility. Endometriomas are filled with dark brown endometrial fluid, produced by ectopic endometrial glands over time. This elicits a chronic inflammatory reaction from surrounding ovarian tissue, leading to formation of a fibrotic pseudocapsule. [...]
