Abundisporus sclerosetosus sp. nov, from the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, Singapore is described. The species was collected on a dead trunk of Shorea sp. (Dipterocarpaceae) and is characterized by a trimitic hyphal system and digitate, setiform hyphae in the trams of the tubes. The taxon is compared with Abundisporus violaceus, A. fuscopurpureus, A. roseoalbus, and also with a few South-East Asian taxa described by Corner in Loweporus. A key to the Abundisporus and pileate Loweporus species with basidiospores shorter than 5 mu m is provided. (C) 2000 Editions scientifiques et mCdicaIes Elsevier SAS.
