Abstract
During a survey of soil and moss samples from Karkar Island (Papua New Guinea) and Zackenberg (Greenland), two new species of the small, recently established naviculoid genus Microcostatus Johansen et Sray have been found: Microcostatus zackenbergensis and Microcostatus deslooveri. Both new species show some affinities with other Microcostatus species, but can be separated easily.
