Abstract
The Miscellanies (3 Kingdoms 2:35a-o, 46a-l) are one of the strangest features of the Septuagint version of the story of Solomon. Many scholars have tried to solve this enigma, but no conclusion has been reached so far. In this paper I propose that the Miscellanies should be understood as a part of the formation process of the Septuagint of Samuel. The Miscellanies once formed the closing of the book of Samuel and were later integrated by the proto-MT into the story of Solomon in Kings itself.
