Abstract
(en) [A few legal issues concerning the medical certificate of sport participation] More individuals than ever before are currently practising sport. Providing medical clearance for sport participation involves legal as well as liability issues. a physical examination must be personally performed by the physician in order to exclude life-threatening anomalies and assess the subject’s potential risk prior to stablishing the medical certificate. It should be noted that the medical attitude is being compared with what the average physician would do under similar circumstances. A personal individual examination of the patient, based on current guidelines or protocols and the best objective scientific data available to us as of today, may avoid complaint and litigation. Keep that in mind !
