- (en) While some deplore the disinterest of the young regarding politics, empirical studies show that specific forms of commitment are developing among young people, notably around the ecological challenge. Yet placing ecology at the heart of one’s commitment is not without repercussions: it forces militants to re-think the framework and form of their political action. The research presented in this article enabled the author to see the tension specific to ecological commitment at the origin of new ways of investing politics today, which are at the centre of a wider redefinition of political commitment, initiated by numerous movements during the seventies.
