Abstract
Conservation Agriculture (CA) is an alternative agrarian system to the conventional farming system. It’s based on 3 pillars: the reduction of soil tillage, a maximization of soil cover and a diversification of crops. To study the diversity of CA in Wallonia, this thesis is built on four objectives: 1) Categorize the diversity of conservation agriculture practices in Wallonia; 2) Compare the characteristics of CA models to Belgian national statistics; 3) Evaluate the impact of these practices on soil quality; 4) To identify potential trajectories for farmers who wish to move towards a more virtuous model of conservation agriculture. Each of these objectives works at different scales and mobilizes different methodologies, presented briefly in this poster.
