he Song of Songs is a dialogue between a man and a woman in which other characters also appear. Is it possible to determine who these other people are and when they intervene in the unfolding of the poem? Can one, perhaps, speak of a choir which makes its voice heard in a recurrent fashion? Is the Song meant to be read or staged like a play? These are the questions A. addresses in this article. [Abstracted by Christopher T.
