- (en) As soon as 1970, American artist Robert Morris showed a keen interest in Michel Foucault’s thinking. One of its most vivid expression lies in his series of drawings, In the Realm of the Carceral (1978), inspired by the reading of Discipline and Punish. In what follows, I would like to suggest how the reading of Foucault’s writings during this decade helped Morris to renegotiate a number of issues related to the body, a theme deeply at stake in his early minimalist works, and to give them a political turn.
