- This communication studies the construction of the european migration policy, its implementation through the negotiations of a EU-Mali cooperation agreement and the political protest of civil society in Bamako, in a globalized contemporary context characterized by an economic and financial crisis since 2008, the rise of nationalisms and the feelings of insecurity. On one hand, it aims to understand the definitional process of this « European migration crisis » as a « public problem ». On the other hand, based on ethnographical work and life stories of former migrants committed in civil society organisations in Bamako, this communication analyses the impact of a public policy on the transformation of imaginaires, life courses as well as on the commitment, the political protest and the activism. This study aims to understand how a european policy participates to shape the migratory field in Mali, as well as the effects and the resistances that this one generates among migrants, Malian civil society organizations and their transnational networks as well as among political and state actors with regard to the social, political and economic changes having occurred these last years in Western Africa.
