Abstract
(en) A study was conducted to demonstrate synthesis of a bimetallic dodecaborate LiNaB12H12 with significant superionic conductivity. LiNaB12H12 was prepared through sintering of LiBH4, NaBH4, and B110H14 with a stoichiometric molar ratio of 1:1:1. The successful synthesis was confirmed by X-ray diffraction, Raman spectra, and solid state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements. The phase transition of LiNaB12H12 examined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) occurred at the temperature of 488 K, which is substantially lower than those reported for pure LiNaB12H12 and Na2B12H12
