Abstract
While environmental laws and policies have never been as strong as they are today, a wave of rollback attempts and concrete regressive acts on both sides of the Atlantic put them potentially at risk. Time and litigation will tell whether such hostile measures can withstand judicial scrutiny in light of existing constitutional or supranational guarantees. The contribution argues that consolidation of environmental law goes hand-in-hand with foresight on how environmental law can or should resist rollback. And that discussions on such a highly relevant topic, due to current circumstances, should intensify.
