Abstract
A model for the study of the thermal state in an exhaust well of an underground gasification plant is set up and simulated on a digital computer. Simulation allows one to predict the transient responses to disturbances, to define a control strategy to be followed by the operators and to gain experience in the control of the plant. Simulation problems and solutions are discussed, and results are presented and analyzed.
