- Abstract
- Describes how a computer can substitute for a teacher and guide the student through the stages of numerical calculation, using strategically optimized algorithms. At each stage, the student has a choice of various options and the computer evaluates his choice and pronounces: totally inadmissible-optimum-debatable, with risks pointed out. The computer can also specify the errors and make general comments about the quality of work. An example shows the conversation with the computer while the student tries to solve a problem.
