- Abstract
- TO THE EDITOR : Chordomas are rare tumors arising from primitive notochordal remnants. Most of them develops in bony tissues, with only rare cases of extra-skeletal lesions. They represent less than 5% of initial bone tumors and 0.2% of primary brain tumors. A peak incidence occurs between the fourth and sixth decades, primarily in the sacro-coccygeal region in adults. Less than 5% of chordomas are discovered in the first two decades, with most being intracranial, typically centered on the sphenooccipital synchondrosis.
