(en) The possibility that Earth-tides could be triggering seismic events has been investigated by many authors. One of the triggering reasons of the earthquakes could be the induced gravitational modulations of the earth tides. This study has two objectives: the first objective is to obtain the characteristic of response of an intermediate-seismic zone liable to certain tidal periodicities. The reasons of this problem are much simplify by geographical position and Vrancea tectonics, by the seismic activity depth and the prevailing type of interaction at this depth. That is the gravitation. Thus, we take in account only different tidal periodicities for analyse the possible coupling interaction between earthquakes and earth tides. The modulation tendencies of the representative components of every spectral group of the earth tides are analysed by a dedicated methodology. These earth tide components are: S2, M2 and N2 for semidiurnal waves, K1, P1 and O1 for diurnal waves, MF, MM, SSA and SA, for long period waves. The statistical coefficient p could be a potential seismic precursor if the time variations of its characteristic prove a systematically pattern in this sense. The second objective regards the integration of the obtained results in the context of the accepted geodynamical models for the Vrancea region. The new concept of statistical tidal tomography is very important for touch this objective. It can offer a good explanation for the torsion property of the Vrancea seismic slab. The access to a complete and homogenous data base of main earthquakes like RomPlus catalogue from 1970 to 2007, the principal method of analysis named HiCum (from Histogram Cumulating), the statistical tests for the estimation of the correlation between earthquakes and earth tides through statistical coefficient p and confidence intervals, the results validation by the method of the synthetically series of random events, the analyses in time and 3D sliding windows, the new concept named statistical tidal tomography of the earthquake distribution used for the first time in the earthquake – earth tides correlation, all this mentioned things contribute to realise the two proposed objectives and therefore to the aim of our study: to make obvious the interactions between earthquakes and earth tides for a particularly region with intermediate-depth seismic activity, the seismic Vrancea region.
