Abstract
Bianca Felicori gave the lecture “Art, Technology and Mechanization: London, 1951–56” at the Politecnico di Milano, invited by Professor Stefano Setti as part of his art history course. Felicori presented part of her doctoral research on the Independent Group, highlighting the key concepts that emerged in their curated exhibitions between 1951 and 1956: "Growth and Form" by Richard Hamilton (ICA, 1951), "Parallel of Life and Art" by Alison and Peter Smithson, Eduardo Paolozzi, Nigel Henderson and Ronald Jenkins (ICA, 1953), and "This is Tomorrow" (Whitechapel Gallery, 1956).
